Who We Are - Welcome To MPA Accounting
Our Journey
When starting MPA Accounting it was really important for us to understand what our new customers wanted from us. Or in other words, What did they want from their previous accountants that they never got?
So in order to learn this, we asked every new customer that approached us, Why they were looking to change accountants? We did not want to fail them so we planned to use this valuable information to build MPA.
One might think that saving money was high on their list, but it was not the case. The biggest reason in almost every instance was these business owners were disappointed with the lack of customer service. The customer never felt valued and received little or no support from the company they were paying to look after them. Some, never got to speak to the accountant they were being charged by. They often wondered just what they were paying for other than a Tax Submission. Another issue was lack of communication. Getting no advance warning of their tax deadlines for submission and payment of tax commitments. Customers often found themselves stressed at having never been suitably reminded of their responsibilities with HMRC. Being charged for every last question or request for help was also high on the list. The final one that stood out was approachableness. To my shock, some found themselves being too afraid to ask their accountants for any help.
My own background was in Sales and for the last nearly 20 years in Financial Services, Mortgages. I was genuinely surprised to hear that these were the main reasons people would look to take their valuable business elsewhere. Some Accountants were seemingly not concerned about customer service and how the customer feels. So right away we committed to offering a service that would make sure our customers never felt that way. We tried hard to address the concerns that our customers gave us to provide a reliable, trustworthy and friendly service.
We were also conscious of quality. We wanted to do a great job behind the scenes, to make sure that quality was throughout the business. We focused on our duty to provide both quality advice and service to our customers. So we decided to work as an accredited AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) firm ensuring we could match our efforts for excellent customer service to the AAT high standards of advice and practice.
Today we remain true to our original objectives, to listen to the customer and always try to put our customers’ requirements first.
As we approach the 10 years mark, we still hear many of the same reasons given by people looking to change accountants. I am proud to see just how hard the team at MPA still work to make sure that the customer and their business are valued. MPA enjoy giving our customers the help and time they both need, and deserve.
I hope that the growth of the business over many years, primarily by word of mouth, tells us that customers truly appreciate the efforts we go to in trying to be of value to them. We honestly take much joy in seeing their plans come to fruition, their business grow and reward them for the hard work it takes to run their own company.
At MPA, we will do what we can to help because it is what we do. It is what makes us a little different to a lot of other companies out there.
Over the years we have collected many lovely testimonies from our customers but here you can find a few comments we wanted to share.
